The Strange Case of Dr. Keyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson

The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Other Tales of TerrorThe Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Other Tales of Terror by Robert Louis Stevenson

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Very Frankenstein-esk. I read it in a Scottish modernism class and found some interesting meanings there. The duality within Dr. Jekyll seems to be felt by all of us, and is especially felt by the other characters in this story. We have a vicarious experience trying to divide out our Darwinian selves by seeing Jekyll's life unfold, but at the end of the day we have to accept that we are not "truly two," but still recognize the complexity within the individual.
